First, for there to be an actual “war” there needs to be a declaration of war, which there never was.
Secondly, one needs to know who the enemy is, and who one is fighting in order for there to be a justifiable, declared war.
A war on terror, for example, is not really a definitive war because there is no clear cut enemy, and for that matter, there has ALWAYS been some sort of war against terror….from the beginning of time.
Now, regarding Afghanistan. In the beginning we had a fairly clear cut idea on who was the enemy, and what we needed to to to get to the enemy.
If memory serves me correctly, our invasion into Afghanistan was totally for the purpose of retaliating against Osama Bin Laden and Al Quada.
Correct me if I am wrong with that assumption.
And, if memory also serves me correctly, at that time there was no mention of a Taliban. Our invasion weas solely for the purpose that I stated above.
Correct me, again, if I am wrong with that assumption.
As fighting cotinued, our troops were in an area known as Tora Bora, and as I recall, we were very close or on the verge of either capturing, or killing Osama Bin Laden, the reason why we invaded Afghanistan.
Correct me if my assumption is incorrect.
It was at that time , as we were closing in on who we went after, George w. Bush decided that it was time to pull the troops from Afghanistan and concentrate on an invasion of Iraq because they allegedly had weapons of mass destrucion that they, conceivably, could use against us, attack us with. It was not for the purpose of removing or killing Saddam Hussein of for rebuilding a new nation out of Iraq, and it certainly had nothing to do with oil, or a personal agenda of George w. Bush against the man, Saddam Hussein, who had threatened to kill his daddy. (Bush’s daddy)
Correct me if that is not accurate.
The mission in Afghanistan has drastically changed from what it was that gave us the desire to attack them, while the mission in Iraq, whatever the hell it was to begin with, has no ending, so it seems, and the mission, it changes with the wind.
Would I be correct in those assumptions. Tell me if I am not.
All of the above being said, I, for one, really and honestly want to know what the hell our men, and women, in the proud uniforms of our military, are fighting for, and even more so, exactly what the hell are they having limbs blown off their bodies, or dying for?
In fact, I would like for the President of the United States to answer that question. What the hell are our bave men and women in the uniforms of our armed services doing in Iraq and Afghanistan.
For each and every one of them, they raised their right hands and upon joing the military, they swore an oath….and that oath was TO DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Well, Mister President, let me in on you something….the real danger to THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES is not in Iaq. The real danger to THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES is not in Afghanistan.
The real threat to the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES is right here in our own backyard, on the shores of our own nation, and Mister President. you had better do something about it before that Constitution is torn out from under us and ripped to shreds.
We are beginning to see where those threats are coming from, Mister President, and those threats are as close to you as are your family.
They are Americans Mister President, albeit ignorant ones, who are being force fed and spurred on by familiar names…names that we see, and hear, on a daily basis.
That is where the real threat to the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES is, Mister President.
All of that being said, I ask you, WHY ARE OUR PROUD AND BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE SERVING OUR NATION, DEFENDING THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES in countries that are not attacking THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES.
Mister President, I, and all Americans, deserve an answer, and if you don’t have a good one, then it is time to BRING ALL OF OUR MEN, AND WOMEN, HOME FROM AFGHANISTAN, AND IRAQ……………IMMEDIATELY.
And, once more let me ask, IF I AM WRONG, PLEASE CORRECT ME.
